I have been given the privilege to repair a piece of work by the Hawaiian artist, Kay Lynne Sattler. Kay is a sculptor who adorns her work in 22K Genuine Gold Leaf, amongst other precious metal Leafs. Her Sculptures are displayed around the world, including at the The Ritz- Carlton Spa, Kapalua
A customer of Kay’s lives in Dallas and the gilding in his work of hers was damaged. Finding us, The Gilt Studio, through the website for The Society of Gilders, he mailed us her work and we got after it. Matching the color of gold, application technique and finish as seamlessly as possible, we applied 22k genuine gold leaf patches where needed using a water based size made from scratch at The Gilt Studio.
