The Gilt Studio

Bank on It!

November 26th, 2009 by Palmer Brown

Well, It’s on the Bank, technically…

The friendly Gentlemen of Sundance Square’s Engineering Department, which is the historical district of downtown Fort Worth, TX, contacted The Gilt Studio to repair the previously gilded wooden letters outside the Burk Burnett Building.

Originally built as the State National Bank in 1914, The Burk Building is still a functioning bank today, and it was up to me to bring its name sake back to shine.

Check out my pictures below cataloging my work, repairing the 19 splintered 12″ tall wood letters 50 feet in the air right through a visit by the first winter storm of the season. Needless to say it was a challenge, but always a pleasure!

Thank you John, Tommy, Dave, Mr. DeHart and everyone else!
