What an Honor!

Before

I have been given the privilege to repair a piece of work by the Hawaiian artist, Kay Lynne Sattler. Kay is a sculptor who adorns her work in 22K Genuine Gold Leaf, amongst other precious metal Leafs. Her Sculptures are displayed around the world, including at the The Ritz- Carlton Spa, Kapalua

A customer of Kay’s lives in Dallas and the gilding in his work of hers was damaged. Finding us, The Gilt Studio, through the website for The Society of Gilders, he mailed us her work and we got after it. Matching the color of gold, application technique and finish as seamlessly as possible, we applied 22k genuine gold leaf patches where needed using a water based size made from scratch at The Gilt Studio.

So, I have finally finished The Gilt Studio’s first “collection’!… 2009 Gilt Antler Collection: Table Couture

Gilt Antlers~22K Genuine Gold Leaf ~Authentic Natural Antlers Table Couture, our Gilt Antler collection is designed to stand as working art accenting any traditional or contemporary home, as well as accenting service for you and all of your guest!

But… before I can launch it, I wanted to test it out. I baked a cake and some cookies to stage my table, see how it all looks and test it’s usability. I thought it a good idea to use my experiment as an opportunity to have some friends over and casually enjoy the “Sweets” of my labor.

"Eggstra" Special Gilt!

This past weekend my dog, Tux, and I dressed in our Spring time finest and hit the streets of South Austin’s shopping district to spread a little “Eggstra” special spring time Gilt. With a flower in my hat and one on my Tux’s collar, we packed our basket to the brim with one of our newest items from the catalogue, the Gilt Confetti Egg.

Sitting under the sun along the grassy sidewalk and listening to live music from the outdoor concert next door, we made new friends and spread the word of how much fun “Gilt” can be. My friend, Marci, even met up with us to say “Hello” and found herself in a confetti egg war with a photographer who was passing by! We had a lot of fun here in Austin with our Gilt Confetti Eggs and, as always, hope to share our Gilt with you…
